“At Heart of Oneness, our mission is to be of service by creating an environment and experience that fosters self-awareness and raises consciousness.
Our purpose and intention are to unite people in the most benevolent and uplifting way so that change and transformation is not only possible but probable for humanity and the future of all sentient species upon this great earth.
We support, live, and endorse a life that is healthy, prosperous, peaceful, and inclusive while offering solutions to today’s biggest life challenges. We believe that every human being is capable of inspiring themselves and the world to live and be better.”
Above is the mission statement on the Heart of Oneness website, and we attended their Holistic Expo this past Saturday, in Edison, New Jersey.
Commodities included – spiritual herbal baths, mediumship readings, energy cleansing, mushroom tinctures, vibrational aromatherapy, intuitive tarot, life coaching, crystals, minerals, spices, copper wire wrapping, incense, resins, Reiki, Zyto scans, and more.
The good news, there were some quality vendors in attendance and a plethora of intriguing offerings.
Highlights included an informative presentation by the dynamic trio of Kristin, her daughter Andrea, and mother Denise, from SHE Wise. We were guided through a peace-inducing meditation and life affirming grounding. Questions about our internal dialogue, self care routines, and habits were asked and answered in this educational safe space.
Next up, we satiated our taste buds with a stop at Earthy Krunchy Snacks. We sampled kale chips, popcorn, and other healthy ingestibles. We were delighted and surprised by the knowledge and engagement of these business owners.
The professionals at Lanman & Kemp-Barclay & Co., Inc. did not disappoint. Their giveaway contained free samples of Florida Water – a cologne enchanting generations since 1808, admired for its floral scent and citrus overtones. It is widely used for spiritual cleansing and is said to restore balance to the mind, body, and soul.
Now for the not-so-good news, the promotion and subsequent execution of this three-day event was less than effective. There was a marked drop-off in presenters, attendees, and general enthusiasm. The notable energy from the 2024 experience was absent. Many of those representing their products were listless and consumed with spending time on their “smart” devices, instead of engaging in actual dialogue.
Call me crazy, but believing you are bothering a proprietor or an employee, as they are seated perusing their social media feeds does not reflect well on your company. This is especially true in a space reserved for “uniting people in the most benevolent and uplifting way so that change and transformation is not only possible but probable upon this great earth.”
Not to sound too harsh, but for the vendors who gave 100% and spent their valuable budgets purchasing tables, signage, lodging, meals, etc. – you deserve MUCH better! Note to organizers – having a jewelry booth in every row and profoundly poor placement throughout, unless your goal is to create confusion and a lack of cohesion – is foolish, try harder!
While we applaud those in the holistic arena for their eagerness and ethos, perhaps it is time this industry returned to its infancy as far as its intent. Focus on empowerment through education, purity as a pathway, and alternatives for modern medicine. We all need to make a living, however, snake oil salesmen and disinterested representatives have no place in the discussion of self-awareness and raising consciousness.
